THE RAPIDES PARISH SHERIFF'S CITIZENS' ACADEMY The first ever Citizens' Academy began Tuesday, May 19th, 2009. The academy was started as a way to further
educate the public about the Sheriff's Office and the different roles each department plays in making the community a safer place.
The academy is held each Tuesday from 6:00pm to 9:00pm for a duration of 7 weeks. Each week representatives from each of the different divisions
speak and answer questions about their particular role within the Sheriff's
Office. This unique opportunity is being offered to the public free of charge, but spaces are limited to the first (30) qualified applicants.
If you are not selected the first time we will keep your application on file and call you the next time we have an academy. Our 4th Session of the Rapides Parish Sheriff's Citizens' Academy starts on March 2nd.
